OVERVIEW
Though the importance of sustainable fashion is slowly getting recognized, it is being overshadowed by the dramatic rise of fast fashion. Brands are pushing buyers to consume at an extensive rate by shortening trend cycles while using inhumane methods to keep up with this pattern. 

At the same time, fashion consumers are either unaware or ignorant of the detrimental effects caused by over-consumption.

The goal of FURTHER magazine is to encourage its readers to make slower and more conscious choices, as well as provide alternative ways to remain fashionable.



DEVELOPMENT


READER PERSONAS

After solidifying the concept, I created a set of personas that reflect 3 types of distinct readers from the intended audience. This was a key step in defining the visual direction of the magazine while catering to its potential readers.





MOODBOARDS

With the concept and users clearly defined, I began building mood boards that started to sculpt the visual direction through photography, layout, type and color. In this process, I sourced different styles of editorial design that well reflected both the educational and expressive nature of FURTHER.   





I used the font “Ellograph” as its clean yet rounded lines perfectly balances both serious and playful tones. This is paired with “Proxima Nova” as the body copy, a geometric font that works well the content of each article present in the magazine.

The brand’s colors are primarily forest green and white to reflect the environment while maintaining an editorial feel. Though a variety of vibrant colors are used throughout the issue to appeal to the expressive nature of the brand.


LOGO




FURTHER’s logo was designed to visually convey the magazine’s goal of pushing towards a greener future and creating community.
